XFlow

XFlow is an accurate fluid simulation tool for engineering and scientific purposes. With XFlow engineers can study complex physical processes involving fluids and their interaction with structures in a straightforward manner.

Next Limit has extensive research experience in computational fluid simulation techniques (CFD) with a particular emphasis on particle-based methods. The methods developed by Next Limit improve upon existing techniques and allow the exploration of physical processes that are difficult to solve using traditional methods. The main benefits of these particle-based techniques reside in their natural way of representing the fluid. They avoid the need to create a computational grid (meshless) and naturally handle transient situations.

XFlow features a novel particle simulation technology that improves upon existing methods and overcomes many of the shortcomings of other CFD tools.

XFlow is based on Next Limit's proprietary techniques.

XFlow

The main features of XFlow are:

  • State-of-the-art meshless formulation (pure particle-based technology - no mesh generation needed)
  • Well adapted to free surface problems with high deformation and fluid-structure interaction.
  • Robust boundary condition model allows interaction with moving or deforming complex objects.
  • Coupled fluid-structure solver allows structural analysis including structure deformation.
  • Proprietary structural analysis solver in order to study stresses induced over the objects.
  • Powerful 3D interface and visualization tools; easy to use minimising the number of steps that should be accomplished.
  • 32 and 64-bit application fully optimized for multicore systems
